0.0.7 release notes
0.0.7 establishes the core mechanics of Blade Ballad. Basic systems pertaining to combat and AI outlined below has been implemented, although there are some minor bugs.
A UI settings menu has been added which allows you to modify specific combat control values such as the rotational threshold or to turn the UI overlay on or off.
You can now select from a variety of weapons, each with its own properties, but they are all kinematics based.
A basic dialogue system has been implemented, which I hope to expand upon once someone puts together a cohesive storyline.
NPCs can also exist as a friendly or enemy, with basic NPC behaviors and can wander around, patrol an area, or target an opponent (in the case of a friendly, they can follow you and help you in battle).
World and story building is the next step. But that development will be kept private so as to not spoil the plot. This release is merely to demonstrate a new combat paradigm based on kinematics rather than keyframed animations, with the hopes that playtesters can give feedback if there is potential to this experimental mechanic. Any bug reports or general suggestions is also appreciated.
